Peter was brought up in Penicuik, Midlothian in the south east of Scotland. As a youngster he spend many days assisting his father Sid, a botanical photographer. His interest in natural history and the great outdoors is thanks, in no small part to his experiences with Sid.
He studied photography st Stevenson College Edinburgh and graduated with a Professional Development Award (Degree). As part of the course he sat a Professional Qualifying Exam with the British Institute of Professional Photography (BIPP) becoming a Graduate Associate.
Peter’s passion is the wild places in Britain where man’s effect on the land is barely of ever evident. Initially Peter spend a great deal of time photographing the lighthouses of Scotland, but now he spends most of his time working with wild animals, where their unpredictable behaviour presents challenges which are not present in many other fields of photography.
His work has featured in countless books, calendars and magazines. He also produces written articles about his photography and is a confident and exciting public speaker.
